The Leets Consortium is proud to unveil the findings of our 2024 Annual Human Resources Survey. This comprehensive survey gathered insights from human resources professionals, business leaders, and talent development experts from across the United States. The survey focused on the evolving landscape of organizational effectiveness and the diversity of the modern workforce. It highlights key challenges faced by leaders in today’s dynamic workplace and delves into the innovative strategies they are implementing to address the identified issues. The results provide valuable perspectives on HR and leadership, offering actionable insights for driving success in the modern business environment.

Top Challenges

The survey sheds light on the pressing challenges that organizations grappled with in 2024. A significant 64 percent of respondents identified Organizational Change/Change Management as their top challenge, underscoring the complexities of navigating transformation in today’s fast-paced and unpredictable environment. Team Effectiveness, cited by 30 percent of participants, highlights the ongoing need for fostering collaboration and productivity amidst hybrid work models and evolving team dynamics. Meanwhile, Engagement & Retention was a concern for 24 percent of respondents, reflecting the continued emphasis on employee satisfaction and loyalty in a competitive talent landscape. These findings underscore the critical areas where leaders must focus their efforts to build resilient, high-performing organizations.

Leadership Methodology

The survey revealed compelling insights into the methods leaders find most effective in addressing organizational challenges. An overwhelming 91 percent of respondents rated One-on-One Coaching as the most impactful approach for talent development, underscoring the value of personalized support in fostering growth and addressing individual needs. Group Coaching also proved effective, with 56 percent recognizing its ability to enhance team dynamics and collective problem-solving. Leadership Development Programs emerged as a critical tool, with 78 percent linking them to improved retention, demonstrating the vital connection between strong leadership and employee loyalty. Only 13 percent found Learning Platforms highly effective for skill-building, signaling a shift away from traditional, static training methods toward more interactive and tailored development solutions. These results highlight the growing importance of adaptive, relationship-driven approaches in developing talent and addressing workplace dynamics.

Looking Ahead in 2025

Survey respondents highlighted key priorities for 2025, including developing robust leadership capabilities, enhancing coaching skills, and navigating organizational dynamics such as change management and strategic alignment. Additionally, enhancing employee engagement by prioritizing psychological safety, diversity, and well-being has emerged as a key focus for developing impactful training programs.

Specifically, they identified Leadership Development and Coaching as a critical area of focus, emphasizing the need to cultivate internal talent and enhance leadership capabilities to drive exceptional results. Organizations are increasingly investing in coaching leaders to navigate complex challenges and achieve measurable outcomes. This focus reflects a strategic shift towards embedding coaching as a core element of leadership development to foster innovation and resilience in an ever-evolving business landscape.

Addressing Organizational Change and bolstering Employee Engagement and Retention were also top priorities for respondents. Organizations are striving to manage change effectively, realign cultures, and ensure strategic alignment of business operations, especially within remote and hybrid work settings. Efforts to improve communication, teamwork, and cross-functional collaboration are essential for maintaining productivity and cohesion. Concurrently, fostering psychological safety, promoting diversity, and prioritizing well-being and emotional intelligence are key to creating engaged, loyal teams. Clear communication and defined roles are critical strategies to reduce turnover and enhance the overall employee experience, ensuring that organizations remain competitive and sustainable.
